PRESS RELEASE
Actors
Workshop Theatre
announces the Opening
Friday, November 3, 8pm, of the Tony Award-winning drama
Proof
Pulitzer Prize-winner David Auburn’s intricate
family drama about love, duty, and madness as a young woman
flowers amidst a genius father, a controlling sister, and an ardent
suitor
About the Production
Winner of the 2001 Pulitzer Prize
and four Tony Awards including Best
Play, Proof displays a deep
intricate wisdom of family dynamics in the chaos of mental instability.
AWT’s staging probes the compelling relationship between a caregiving
daughter and her unstable-genius father. After his passing, an
emancipated Catherine finds herself in the eye of the storm between a
monolithic past, ie, the specter of her father's brilliance-cum-mental
collapse, and a tumultuous present, a battle of wills between ardent
suitor and controlling sister.
