Successful corporate VP suspends
his
moral
compass in the midst of the third-world baby formula scandal and risks
losing everything in the expedient pursuit of the bottom line.
Company
members, Brian Parry (last
season’s Jeff-nominee for Equus),
and AWT’s leading lady, Jan Ellen Graves, take the stage in this play
that the New York Times (in 1993) called: “high-wire acts that can be
savored,” and “an exciting writer…lacerating wit, and theatricality.”
The playwright wrote and directed the play for
Public Television’s
American Playhouse in 1990, and won the Humanitas Award. Baitz’s father
was an executive of Carnation Company, and Three Hotels is widely believed to
be based on his parents. Most recently, Baitz was the creator,
producer, and writer for the ABC family drama, Brothers and Sisters. |
