Saturday,
July 12, 8pm and Sunday July 13, 3pm
at the 150

Redtwist Theatre remounts the riveting story of a successful corporate
VP who suspends his moral compass in the midst of the third-world baby
formula scandal in the 1980s and who risks losing everything in the
expedient pursuit of corporate gain.
Company members, and Skokie residents Brian Parry (Jeff-nominee for
Best Actor in Three Hotels, Equus),
and Redtwist’s leading lady, Jan Ellen Graves, reprise their roles
which received unanimous raves from the Chicagoland press including
“…wholly
engrossing, crystal clear performances” --Hedy Weiss, Chicago Sun-Times
“Parry performs it flawlessly...Graves is terrific” --Barbara Vitello,
Daily Herald
“…pitch perfect performances by Jan Ellen Graves and Brian Parry”
--Catey Sullivan, New-Star
“Highly Recommended” --Lawrence Bommer, Chicago Reader
“…stunning...powerful...gripping” --Betty Mohr, Southtown Star
Three Hotels
is co-directed by Redtwist’s Artistic Director, Michael Colucci (also a
Skokie resident) and Johnny Garcia.
The playwright wrote and directed this play for Public Television’s American Playhouse in 1990, and won
the Humanitas Award. Baitz’s father was an executive of Carnation
Company, and Three Hotels is
widely believed to be based on his parents. His other plays include The End of the Day, Substance of Fire,
and the semi-autobiographical, A
Fair Country, which was one of the three finalists for the 1996
Pulitzer Prize for Drama. Most recently, Baitz was the creator,
producer, and writer for the ABC family drama, Brothers and Sisters.
